The award recognises excellence within the industry, focusing on development and growth, and of course this year taking into account the response to the Coronavirus pandemic and the huge challenges it presented.
For EAA, that meant adapting processes and equipment – including their Infectious Disease Unit – for use with Covid-19 patients, offering a safe, reliable and immediate solution to clients. They also reorganised teams and resources and created additional training opportunities, ensuring that all staff were retained and ready to return to full operational capacity post-pandemic.
It was also a year of significant investment in the fleet, with the addition of a larger, longer-range Challenger 605 to enhance their global reach. And closer to home, they opened a vaccination centre at their HQ to serve the Luxembourg community, with redeployed staff managing logistics and EAA physicians and nurses administering vaccines.
Patrick Schomaker, Director Sales and Marketing at EAA, said: “The whole team is very proud to receive this recognition from ITIJ, which is particularly special coming after such a tumultuous 18 months when the pandemic hit the industry so hard and we had to rapidly adapt our procedures to suit our clients’ updated needs.
“Our place in the final round is recognition of the dedication and efforts of every member of the EAA team, who work so hard to continuously improve our operations and medical expertise – not only to maintain our high standards but to keep improving the services we offer.
“We’d like to thank our clients and partners for the trust and support they put in us. They are the reason we put so much effort into providing and developing our services.
“As the overall winner in 2016, we know what an honour it is to be recognised by ITIJ,” he added.
“Their awards are a benchmark within the industry globally, denoting excellence and professionalism and recognising innovation and dedication – and we look forward to November when we will find out the overall winner.”
EAA offers a global, 24/7/365 air ambulance service, providing state-of-the-art, cost-effective aeromedical services to clients and patients with the highest standards of safety and quality, on board its fleet of dedicated air ambulances – which this year includes a new larger, longer-range Challenger 605.
