EAA awarded Air Ambulance Company of the Year 2024

European Air Ambulance (EAA) is proud to announce that it has been selected as ‘Air Ambulance Company of the Year’ 2024 by the International Travel & Health Insurance Journal (ITIJ). This prestigious award is presented to air ambulance companies that have demonstrated excellence in international patient repatriation over the past 12 months, making a significant contribution to the quality of the air ambulance sector. Among all air ambulance companies operating worldwide, three internationally renowned providers were nominated as finalists.

A key criterion for receiving the award was the remarkable resilience that EAA demonstrated in 2024 despite adverse circumstances. Following the devastating fire at the medical storage facility on 26 March 2024, in which almost all the medical equipment was destroyed, EAA managed to maintain its operational capability without interruption.

In addition, despite the challenges, EAA invested in the further optimisation and expansion of flight operations and put a second state-of-the-art long-haul ambulance aircraft, the Challenger 605, into operation in July. Other important milestones were the introduction of new flight planning software and the digitalisation of the flight operations department.

The award was presented to EAA on 14 November 2024 at the ITIC Global Conference in Vienna. It is considered the most prestigious awards in the air ambulance industry and is based on evaluations by an independent jury. EAA receives the award for the second time, having previously been named Air Ambulance Company of the Year in 2016.
